Who we are:
RICHARD B. GREGORY has been licensed to practice
law in New Mexico since 1975. He currently practices law from
his offices in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is a Certified Public
Accountant although his certificate is currently inactive.
He is a former Accounting Professor at New Mexico State University.
He received his B.A. from Texas Tech University, an M.B.A
from Eastern New Mexico University, and his J.D. from the
University of New Mexico School of Law.
Mr. Gregory is a Fellow of the American College
of Trust and Estate Counsel and currently serves as State
Chair for New Mexico. He serves on the Estate and Gift Tax
Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation
and the Committee on Limited Liability Entities and the Estate
Planning and Drafting Committee of the Section of Real Property,
Probate and Trust Law. He is a former Chairman of the New
Mexico Bar Association Section of Taxation and a former Chair
of the Specialty Committee for Taxation Law of the NM Board
of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and the New Mexico Society
of CPA’s, having previously chaired that Society's Taxation
Committee.
Mr. Gregory was for many years a Director
of the Southern New Mexico Estate Planning Council. He is
a former Director of the University of New Mexico Foundation
and the New Mexico State University Foundation. He is a long-time
Director and former Chairman of the New Mexico Boys and Girls
Ranches.
He is the author of a number of articles
on Taxation and Estate Planning. His most recent articles
appeared in the ACTEC Journal and Probate and Property. He
is a frequent speaker at national and regional programs, including
presentations for the American College of Trust and Estate
Counsel, the American Bar Association Section of Taxation,
the AICPA Advanced Estate Planning Conference, the New York
University Institute on Federal Taxation, the Southern Methodist
University Symposium on Estate Planning, the Colorado, Connecticut
and New Mexico Bar Associations, the Mountain States Tax Conference,
the University of New Mexico Law School, the National Society
of Accountants, and the Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico Societies
of Certified Public Accountants.
